Surround yourself with like-minded people who are also eager to improve or become better versions of themselves. Believe in your direction and do it. McGregor was well aware of this and has optimized his surroundings and environment to increase his chances of becoming successful. He only listens to people closest to him, his family, his friends and team and that’s it. Nobody else exists when he is pushing into this next challenge. He got pulled into an obsession as it became an addiction and every other distraction around him didn’t matter to him.

Look at it the same way as a farmer grows his fruit. He put the seed in fertile soil, waters it and feeds it on a regular basis. He kills the weeds that try to invade his crop. McGregor is a product of his own environment. When he is training and months prior to any game he likes to be isolated and concentrates solely on 5 steps to getting there.
